The right person has 5+ years of experience leading engagements in leadership assessment and development, as well as leadership coaching, at the executive level - and excels in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

About the Senior Consultant Role

The primary responsibility of this role will be to deliver on and market our firm's services in the areas of Leadership Assessment and Development, Executive Coaching, and Team Coaching solutions. You will be primarily delivering work in the Healthcare, Utility, Nuclear Energy industries. Although most of your contributions will be supporting partners’ clients, we anticipate that you will enable business development by partnering with us to identify and win new business opportunities as well as expanding work in current client programs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Play a lead role in delivering high quality consulting services that improve our client's performance
  • Ensure seamless and successful client relationships
  • Actively build and deepen client relationships through high quality work and partnership with clients and colleagues
  • Collaborate and develop the knowledge base and skills of your colleagues
  • Support the enhancement of the STS brand in the marketplace
  • Generate and close leads from your personal contact list and from other sources, as appropriate
  • Support, tailor and deliver proposals in alignment with client specifications
  • Work to ensure contract terms are achievable and all projects are priced fairly and appropriately
  • Contribute to the evolution of existing practices and spearhead the development of new products and services that expand the firm’s available market and impact
  • Work closely with all firm members to optimize the firm’s overall performance
  • Provide ongoing customer feedback to the firm for the purposes of product/ service development and enhancement, and improved client care and management
  • Consult with clients and prospective clients as a coach and adviso
  • Grow and sharpen your skills and abilities as a result of working on the team

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly experienced leading consulting assignments in leadership assessment and development and leadership coaching, particularly at the executive level (5+ years working within a consulting environment, additional corporate experience preferred
  • Experience working with clients in the Healthcare, Utility, Nuclear Power, or Energy industries (preferred)
  • Collaboration: desire to work in a team-oriented firm and to create success for colleagues and yourself
  • Commercial mindset: ability to help our clients and our business to grow profitably and in a sustainable manner
  • Ability to support a consultative sales process and build your own book of business, over time
  • Strong writing, business acumen, interpersonal communication, negotiation, presentation, facilitation, problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, driven to succeed
  • Doctorate in psychology (preferred), with a business point of view


Must be based in the Chicago area within reasonable distance from our downtown office, or willing to relocate.



This role requires 50-70% travel to client sites, mostly within the United States.
